Summary
- Diarrhea, snakebites, and safe deliveries challenge flood-hit areas.
- Mobile relief centers and 34 medical teams deployed in Bhadrak.

State Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling reviewed the post-flood health situation in Bhadrak district. The primary challenges identified were a rise in diarrhea cases, snakebites, and ensuring safe deliveries for pregnant women in the affected regions.
To combat these issues, the government has taken swift action. Antivenom injections are now available at the primary health centre level, and arrangements are in place for pregnant women's safe evacuation for delivery. Health teams are actively monitoring waterborne diseases.
Bhadrak district has seen the deployment of 34 medical teams, eight rapid action teams, and 10 mobile health units. A helpline number, 9439994459, is active, and 16 mobile relief centers are providing emergency health services. A special medical team from Cuttack is continuously monitoring the situation, and local sub-health centers operate round the clock.
So far, 55 pregnant women have been shifted to safer locations, with 21 having already experienced safe deliveries. All snakebite patients received prompt antivenom treatment and have recovered. The Chief Secretary emphasized prioritizing sanitation, disinfection, and safe drinking water supply to prevent further outbreaks.
