8 Mar
Summary
- A 22-year-old woman lived in fear of being a paedophile.
- Intrusive sexual thoughts were diagnosed as a form of OCD.
- A TikTok video led to her diagnosis after four years.

Molly Lambert, a 22-year-old from Manchester, has spoken out about her four-year battle with intrusive thoughts that made her believe she was a danger to others. These distressing thoughts, which began around age 15, were often sexual and violent in nature, leading her to fear she was a paedophile.
Initially experiencing childhood anxiety, Molly's thoughts escalated, causing severe stress, appetite loss, and sleep disturbances. She feared being alone and was petrified of her own mind. She harbored graphic thoughts about death and feared kidnapping, often obsessing over worst-case scenarios.
The turning point came last year when a TikTok video explained P-OCD, or pedophile OCD. This condition involves unwanted intrusive sexual thoughts about children, distinct from pedophilia itself. Realizing others experienced similar distress, Molly sought therapy and was officially diagnosed in July 2025.
Though Molly still experiences intrusive thoughts daily, her perspective has shifted. She now recognizes them as part of an obsessive brain process rather than her identity. She uses social media to advocate for mental health awareness, aiming to support others who suffer in silence, despite facing some backlash.
