State Cabinet Approves Nursing Homes on Residential Plots Policy

The state cabinet has approved a new policy allowing the establishment of nursing homes on residential plots within licensed colonies across the state. This initiative aims to bolster healthcare infrastructure at the neighborhood level, addressing access gaps in emerging residential areas. The policy mandates that only qualified allopathic and AYUSH doctors with valid registration and current practice may establish these facilities.
Permission will be granted for nursing homes on service roads adjoining sector or master roads, provided all internal services are complete. Specific plot sizes are mandated based on hyper, high, medium, and low potential zones. A maximum of four nursing homes are permitted per sector. Fees are determined by the zone, with costs ranging from ₹4,000 to ₹10,000 per square yard, and no additional external development charges will apply.
