7 Feb
Summary
- Nurses are crucial for neonatal and child healthcare, says VC.
- Continuous learning through questions is vital for nurses.
- Workshop focused on integrated management of child illness.

Nurses have been encouraged to actively seek knowledge by posing questions and finding answers to enhance their skills. This call to action was made by Niranjan Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of SDM University, during the inauguration of a capacity-building workshop for nurses in Dharwad on Saturday.
The one-day workshop, titled "Capacity building on integrated management of neonatal and childhood illness (IMNCI)," was held at SDM Nursing College. Kumar underscored the indispensable role nurses play in providing care for newborns and children.
He further emphasized that nurses are vital in offering gentle counseling to parents of premature infants. Keen observation during the neonatal period is critical for the survival and overall well-being of these vulnerable babies, he added.
