Nurse Struck Off for Patient Endangerment
10 Aug
Summary
- A nurse was struck off for mishandling medication and patient care.
- She made inappropriate comments about a deceased patient.
- The nurse is banned from practice for public protection.

Nimmy George, an adult nurse who practiced in Cumbria for nine months from December 2021, has been struck off the medical register. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) made this decision following her suspension in August 2024.
George's suspension stemmed from findings of poor medication handling and inappropriate care for a deceased patient. She was heard making loud remarks about the patient's death and failing to draw curtains. Her knowledge of medicines was also questioned, alongside issues with note-taking and patient identification.
Since her suspension, George has not engaged with the NMC. Consequently, the council determined that removing her from the register was the only measure to adequately protect the public and serve the public interest. She also made comments suggesting she could harm someone and still work in her home country.
