A mental health support walking group in North Lincolnshire, initiated in August of the previous year, has been described as life-changing by its founder. Gareth Morrison established the Barton-Upon-Humber Good to Talk initiative, inspired by personal struggles and the loss of friends.
The group's primary objective is to assist individuals facing challenges such as mental health issues, loneliness, difficulties in socializing, or fitness concerns. It provides an inclusive environment where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, share experiences, or simply enjoy company.
Since its inception, the number of participants has more than doubled, with recent walks drawing close to 60 attendees. The walks are free and held weekly, often concluding at a local pub or cafe, and have become a significant venue for making new friends.
