More than 100 passengers and over a dozen crew members have fallen ill with norovirus aboard the Caribbean Princess. The cruise ship departed Port Everglades, Florida, last week on a 13-day Eastern Caribbean voyage. As of the report, 102 passengers and 13 crew members experienced symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. Norovirus is known for its rapid spread in confined environments like cruise ships.
Princess Cruises has implemented enhanced sanitation measures across the vessel and isolated sick individuals to limit the virus's spread. The ship, which was carrying 3,116 passengers at the time of the outbreak, is scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral on May 11. Comprehensive cleaning and disinfection are planned before its next departure.
