- Cancer survivor regained significant confidence post-tattoo.
A cancer survivor has spoken about how realistic nipple tattoos have significantly boosted her confidence after undergoing a double mastectomy. Grace Suffell, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 25, opted for the procedure following her surgery and chemotherapy.
Based in Telford, tattoo artist Lauren Delarge specializes in hyper-realistic areola tattoos for both men and women who have lost them due to cancer surgery. Delarge highlighted the bespoke nature of her service, aiming to perfectly match existing nipples or recreate them entirely.
Suffell's mastectomy was necessary to prevent the potential return of cancer, even after chemotherapy. She discovered the possibility of nipple tattoos through a hospital leaflet, which detailed that the service was fully funded by the Lingen Davies charity for residents of Shropshire, Telford, and Mid Wales.
After receiving the all-clear, Suffell promptly contacted Delarge, and the tattoos were completed last month, with a follow-up scheduled. She expressed excitement about regaining a part of herself and noted an immediate increase in her confidence. While the Lingen Davies charity supports the Shropshire and Mid Wales area, Delarge is also involved with the national Nipple Innovation Project.
