Karnataka has seen a rise in deceased organ donations, with 198 donations yielding 564 organs in 2025-26. However, a significant number of patients, over 5,000, await kidney transplants, with others needing livers, hearts, and lungs. Medical practitioners are urged to expedite brain death declarations to support timely organ retrieval and aid grieving families.
