Newborn Lives Saved: Neonatal Resuscitation Training Held
31 May
Summary
- Workshop trained healthcare workers in life-saving neonatal resuscitation techniques.
- Training focused on critical interventions during the first minutes after birth.
- Aims to reduce neonatal mortality rate to under 10 deaths per 1,000 live births.

An Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (ANRP) workshop was recently conducted at Motilal Nehru Medical College in Prayagraj. The primary goal was to equip physicians and healthcare professionals with immediate life-saving skills for newborns. This training is vital for intervening during the critical "Golden Minutes" immediately following birth.
The program, a collaborative effort by the Department of Pediatrics at MLN Medical College and branches of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and National Neonatology Forum, trained 36 participants. They received hands-on instruction in essential techniques like bag-mask ventilation and neonatal cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This initiative supports the national target of reducing the neonatal mortality rate to below 10 deaths per 1,000 live births.
