22 Aug
Summary

- Family protested, claiming doctors ignored repeated requests for surgery.
- Police registered a case for alleged medical negligence.
A newborn lost its life during delivery at Kamareddy government hospital on Saturday, following a protest by the grieving family. They allege that medical professionals unnecessarily delayed a caesarean section, even after repeated pleas.
Swaroopa, from Ekkapalli Thanda in Kamareddy district, was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning. Initially advised to wait for labor pains, her condition worsened. Despite the family's urgent requests for a C-section, doctors reportedly opted to wait for a normal delivery.
The surgery was eventually performed on Saturday, by which time the baby had tragically died in the womb. The family firmly believes the infant could have been saved with timely intervention. They have accused the hospital of medical negligence, leading to a protest outside the facility.
Police received a complaint and have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the IPC against the hospital management. The baby's body was sent for an autopsy before being returned to the family. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances of the death and verify the negligence claims.
