29 Aug
Summary
- Three newborns died within 24 hours at Rajawadi Hospital, Ghatkopar.
- Officials state no treatment delays occurred for the three pregnant women.
- Two cases involved intrauterine fetal deaths; one baby died post-birth.

Three infant fatalities occurred within a single 24-hour span at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, a BMC-run facility. Hospital authorities have assured civic officials that the three expectant mothers received timely medical attention.
Investigations revealed that two of the cases involved intrauterine fetal deaths. In the first instance, a 37-week pregnant woman's scans confirmed no fetal heartbeat. The second intrauterine fetal death occurred in a diabetic and hypertensive patient who had missed prior check-ups.
The third newborn, born via Caesarean section at 40 weeks, developed bradycardia and was transferred to the NICU after resuscitation. Tragically, the infant succumbed less than two hours after birth, despite intensive care efforts.
