Doctor Launches Trust for Rural Tamil Nadu Healthcare

Beyond Frontiers Trust (BFT), a new non-profit organization, was formally launched on Wednesday, dedicated to improving specialist healthcare access for tribal and underserved rural communities within Tamil Nadu. Senior physician Dr. S.C. Chandilya established the Trust, which has already conducted 18 free medical camps in Jawadhu Hills, benefiting approximately 4,000 individuals across 150 villages.

The Trust's primary mission is to provide essential specialist diagnosis and treatment, overcoming the challenges posed by geographical barriers and limited transportation. Their services include screening and management for non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension, alongside cancer screenings.

Integral to their outreach are health education programs covering nutrition, sanitation, and hygiene. The launch was attended by notable figures, including Shobana Kamineni and Jayshree Muralidharan, who emphasized the importance of healthcare equity and sustained community engagement for lasting health improvements.
