New Trauma Centre Boosts Lucknow's Emergency Care
27 Feb
Summary
- A new 50-bed trauma centre is proposed for LBRN Hospital.
- The facility will serve accident victims from major highways.
- Specialists and diagnostic tools will be available on-site.

A proposal to establish a new 50-bed trauma centre at Lok Bandhu Raj Narain (LBRN) Hospital in Lucknow has been sent to the chief medical officer. This initiative aims to provide immediate treatment for critically injured patients, preventing referrals to King George's Medical University (KGMU) and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI).
The new centre is strategically located near major highways like the Lucknow-Kanpur highway and Shaheed Path, which will allow for faster treatment of accident victims from areas such as Nawabganj and Mohanlalganj.
The proposed trauma centre will house a specialized team, including neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons, alongside critical equipment like ventilators and CT scanners. This will significantly reduce the current practice of transferring serious patients to KGMU and SGPGI, which are over 10 kilometers away.
