Rajkot to Get Dedicated Palliative Cancer Care Facility

A new Palliative Cancer Care Centre is set to be established in Rajkot, marking a significant advancement for healthcare in the Saurashtra region. The "Pritiben Prabhudasbhai Parekh Palliative Cancer Care Centre" will be located in Amreli village, on the outskirts of Rajkot.

This specialized medical facility will focus on improving the quality of life for patients in advanced stages of incurable cancer. It aims to provide comprehensive care, including pain and symptom management, alongside essential emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual support.

The absence of a dedicated palliative care hospital in Saurashtra has previously necessitated patients seeking care elsewhere. This new centre will bridge that gap, ensuring accessible comfort and relief.

The facility will commence with a 100-bed capacity and plans to serve as a model for palliative healthcare. All services, encompassing pain relief, counseling, and holistic support through naturopathy and yoga, will be offered free of charge.
