Summary
- A new 50-bed Critical Care Block opens in Anaicut village.
- The facility includes an ICU, surgical theatres, and X-ray services.
- It aims to serve 2.5 lakh people, mostly tribals, in rural areas.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will virtually inaugurate a new District Critical Care Block (CCB) facility this month, located in Anaicut village near Vellore. This significant ₹20 crore development is situated near the Jawadhu Hills to ensure better accessibility for the tribal communities residing there.
The single-storey facility spans approximately 5,000 sq.ft and is equipped with 50 beds, including separate wards for maternity and newborns, along with an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) featuring 10 beds. Advanced medical capabilities include X-ray, scanning, and three surgical theatres with ultrasound units.
This new hospital block is designed to treat a range of conditions, from snake bites and burn injuries to cardiac issues and pediatric emergencies, benefiting an estimated 2.5 lakh individuals. It aims to bridge the existing gap in specialist healthcare services, as the Anaicut region currently lacks private clinics and government facilities for specialized care like cardiology and neurology.
