Nestle Formula Recalled Over Food Poisoning Risk

Nestle has initiated a recall of specific infant and follow-on formula products in the UK following the detection of a quality issue with a key ingredient. Concerns have been raised that certain batches of SMA formula may contain the cereulide toxin, a substance produced by food poisoning bacteria that can lead to symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

The company stated that the issue stemmed from an ingredient supplied by a leading provider. Although no illnesses have been confirmed to date in connection with these products, Nestle is voluntarily recalling affected batches as a precautionary measure. The Food Standards Agency has advised parents and caregivers to stop using the recalled products and to seek medical advice if they have concerns about their child's health.
