Nashik Dengue Cases Surge in July Despite Preventive Measures
3 Aug
Summary
- Nashik saw a significant rise with 33 dengue cases in July 2026.
- July's cases represent nearly 60% of the total dengue infections this year.
- Preventive measures have led to fewer cases compared to the previous year.

Nashik recorded a notable surge in dengue cases during July 2026, with 33 individuals testing positive. This figure represents a substantial increase from the eight cases reported in June and accounts for nearly 60% of all dengue infections in the city this year.
The current year's total dengue count has reached 56 since January 1, 2026. Health officials attribute the July spike to the monsoon season, which provides conducive environments for mosquito breeding. However, the overall situation remains more favorable compared to the previous year.
Between January 1 and July 31, 2025, Nashik had reported 222 dengue cases, more than four times the current year's tally. Health authorities credit ongoing preventive strategies, implemented since April, for the reduced caseload. These include anti-larval treatments and public awareness campaigns.
Residents are urged to continue preventive measures by eliminating stagnant water, maintaining cleanliness, and covering water storage containers. They should also wear protective clothing and use repellents. Establishments found contributing to mosquito breeding face strict action.
