Infant Formula Recalled Amid Botulism Outbreak Fears
14 Jun
Summary
- Nara Organics formula recalled due to botulism concerns.
- Three infant cases of botulism reported in three states.
- Formula sold nationwide, including Target stores.

Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula, sold across the United States at Target and online, has been recalled due to potential links to infant botulism. This recall, initiated on Saturday, comes after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) alerted the company to severe illnesses and potential further cases.
Health officials are investigating three confirmed or suspected cases of botulism in infants in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington. These infants began showing symptoms between April and May of this year, and all had consumed the Nara Organics formula. Nara stated that no product has tested positive for C. Botulinum, but the recall is a precautionary measure.
Parents and caregivers are strongly advised to immediately stop using the recalled formula and wash any contaminated surfaces. If a child exhibits botulism symptoms, such as poor feeding, constipation, or breathing difficulties, they should receive immediate medical attention, as the illness can be fatal. The FDA noted that this recalled formula constitutes less than one percent of the U.S. market and is not expected to cause shortages.
The formula was available between July 2025 and June 2026. Customers who purchased the formula online can expect refund details via email, while those who bought it at Target should follow the retailer's return procedures. Nara Organics has made more information, including lot numbers, available on its website.
