Namakkal Siddha Hospital to Become Medical College in 2 Years

Last Sunday, on November 3rd, 2025, the Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian inaugurated a new 66-bed siddha hospital in the city of Namakkal. During the inauguration, the minister announced that the hospital will be developed into a full-fledged medical college within the next 2 years.
The new siddha hospital was constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore and will provide specialized treatments such as Thokkanam, Vaira Bhavan, Pura Vangam, Varmam, and Suttigai to patients. The minister stated that this hospital will help expand access to siddha medicine in the region.
In addition to the new siddha hospital, the Tamil Nadu government is also upgrading two other hospitals in the state. The Rasipuram Government Hospital is being upgraded into a District Government Head Hospital at a cost of Rs 53.39 crore, while the Tiruchengode Government Hospital is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 23 crore.
These infrastructure developments are part of the state's efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and improve medical facilities across Tamil Nadu.
