On November 12, 2025, the Mysuru Association of Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Clinics and Diagnostic Centres (MAHAN) announced that they will be hosting a series of free health camps across 15 to 20 different locations in the city on Friday, November 14. The camps are being organized to mark World Diabetes Day and create awareness about diabetes prevention among the local community.
Addressing a press conference, Dr. K Javeed Nayeem, the past president of MAHAN, appealed to the general public to attend the camps, which are expected to start functioning at 7 a.m. on November 14. According to MAHAN President G.R. Chandrashekar, the initiative seeks to encourage citizens to undergo diabetes screening and understand the importance of lifestyle modifications and medical follow-ups in preventing long-term complications.
The inaugural event will take place at Kukkarahalli lake, where Mysuru Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikant Reddy will be the chief guest, and District Health Officer Dr. Kumaraswamy will be present as a guest of honor. MAHAN hopes that this campaign will bring healthcare closer to the people, ensuring early signs of diabetes are identified and managed before they lead to severe health issues. The organization also aims to create awareness about maintaining a balanced diet, regular exercise, and routine health checkups as part of preventive healthcare.
