Mum's Bitter Take on Weight Loss Jabs
29 Jan
Summary
- Mum lost six stone over three years with diet and cycling.
- She feels bitter that weight loss jabs weren't available then.
- At her heaviest, she weighed 16st 4lbs and was a size 24.

Bethany Wragg, a 41-year-old hairdresser from Sheffield, has shared her journey of losing six stone over three years, transforming from a size 24 to a size 10. She achieved this significant weight loss through a dedicated Slimming World diet and regular 10-mile bike rides on weekends, combined with increased activity like walking her dog. This past effort has left her feeling a sense of bitterness as modern weight loss jabs, which can yield similar results in months, were not widely available during her own struggle. Wragg recalls being embarrassed about her size in her daughter's school playground and enduring moments like needing an extender belt for a theme park ride. She tried numerous diets unsuccessfully due to a perceived lack of willpower before committing to a healthier lifestyle in January 2022. Her daughter, now 19, has joined her, and they now plan meals together for mutual motivation. The family has also embraced a camper van for weekend cycling trips.
