Muffin Mix-Up: Walnuts Hidden in Blueberry Muffins!
11 May
Summary
- Muffins mislabeled as blueberry actually contain walnuts.
- The recall affects Nouria Banana Nut muffins with lot code 6082.
- No illnesses reported, but the error risks severe allergic reactions.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a nationwide alert on May 8, 2026, concerning a significant product recall by The Brownie Bake. The company has recalled muffins that were mislabeled as blueberry, when they actually contain walnuts, a major allergen.
This recall specifically impacts Nouria Banana Nut muffins. The packaging error means the product label fails to disclose the presence of walnuts. Affected items are sold in nine-packs, identified by lot code 6082 and UPC: 811070033979.
These muffins were distributed nationwide on March 31, 2026, via a third-party distributor, potentially reaching numerous retail and food service establishments across the country. The mix-up was discovered in April after a customer reported the issue.
Although no illnesses have been reported to date, the FDA emphasizes the severe health risks, including anaphylaxis, that can arise from undeclared tree nuts for allergic individuals. Tree nuts are among the nine major food allergens in the U.S.
The FDA and The Brownie Bake strongly advise consumers with tree nut allergies to avoid consuming the recalled muffins. They should be returned to the point of purchase for a refund or safely discarded.
