Following further admissions, Trafford developed pancreatic necrosis, a serious condition where pancreatic tissue dies. Doctors emphasized the severity, noting her age prevented a medically induced coma. Trafford has stated her life has been put on hold and she faces lifelong pancreatitis risks.
Lilly, the maker of Mounjaro, stated patient safety is their priority and that the drug's information leaflet warns of pancreatitis as an uncommon side effect, advising consultation with a doctor.
