A mother and daughter died from cancer just ten hours apart in September 2026, leaving their family in profound grief. Cibele Marchis, 28, and her mother, Maria Elisabete Nogueira, 56, passed away in Mogi Guaçu, Brazil. Cibele, a digital marketer, had been diagnosed with an aggressive adrenal cancer in 2024. Her mother, Maria Elisabete, learned of her pancreatic cancer diagnosis about a year later.
Neither mother nor daughter wished to know of the other's passing while still alive, a wish that tragically came true. Cibele succumbed on September 24, 2026, and her mother passed away ten hours later on September 25, 2026. Both women were buried together in a joint ceremony, marking a final farewell to a shared battle against different forms of cancer.
