Concerningly, 80 of the inspected sites had unfixed violations from previous inspections, indicating an ongoing struggle to maintain compliance.
The report underscores the breadth of the inspections, which cover not just traditional restaurants, but also schools, nursing homes, and other food service operations. With over 90,000 such establishments statewide, ensuring consistent health standards remains a significant challenge for local authorities.
While 25 of the Monroe County sites inspected last month had no violations at all, the prevalence of critical and unresolved issues highlights the need for continued vigilance and enforcement to protect public health in the region.
