- She delivered her son early via C-section and named him after her neurosurgeon.
- Nearly six years later, she remains healthy and cherishes each day.

In 2020, a then 38-year-old pregnant woman experienced severe symptoms leading to the discovery of a massive brain tumor. Doctors diagnosed it as an undiagnosed melanoma that had spread to her brain, leaving her fearing she wouldn't live to see her unborn child's first birthday.
Surgeons initially removed as much of the tumor as possible. To protect her baby, she delivered her son, Marcus, early via cesarean section on May 4, 2020. She named her son after her neurosurgeon, Dr. Marcus.
Following delivery, she underwent a second surgery to remove the remaining tumor entirely. She then began immunotherapy treatment, a process that carried its own risks given her prognosis. Despite her fears of not seeing her children grow up, her condition improved remarkably.
By October 2020, scans showed no signs of cancer. Nearly six years later, she remains cancer-free, considering each day a precious gift and a second chance at life.
