Mom Faces ALS With Unwavering Family Love

Angela 'Angie' Quandt, a 56-year-old mother of six from Portland, Oregon, was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in September 2022. Initially experiencing unexplained falls, her symptoms progressed, leading to a diagnosis of this progressive nervous system disease. Doctors have given her an estimated two to five years to live, a prognosis that has deeply impacted her focus on future family milestones.

Despite the physical challenges and gradual loss of independence that come with ALS, Quandt is determined to live life fully. She emphasizes that the disease changes what she can do physically but not who she is. Her unwavering support system includes her husband of 32 years, her six children, and four grandchildren, with another on the way.
