In November 2025, Greer Jones, a 34-year-old podcaster from the West Midlands, made headlines for delivering one of the biggest babies ever born at her local hospital. Jones, who lives with her husband Chris, 37, and their two sons Zeke, 6, and Zac, 4, recently gave birth to a newborn weighing a staggering 12 pounds, 15.5 ounces.
Jones had been nervous about the delivery, as her first son Zeke was born in 2019 weighing 9 pounds, 15 ounces - over 2 pounds heavier than the UK average for boys. That birth was difficult and traumatic, with Jones laboring for three days before Zeke was delivered by forceps. So when Jones found out she was pregnant again in early 2021, she felt anxious about going through another challenging birth.
Scans during the pregnancy revealed Jones was having another unusually large baby, although the exact birth weight couldn't be predicted. As her due date approached, Jones was advised to have an induction, as doctors felt the baby had grown too large to wait any longer. To Jones' surprise, the birth ended up being very straightforward, with Zac arriving quickly after an epidural. However, Jones did suffer a deep tear and required stitches.
Now 4 years old, Zac continues to be a "big boy", towering over his nursery friends and wearing clothes meant for 5-6 year olds. He is predicted to reach an impressive height of 6 feet, 10 inches as an adult. Despite the anxiety of her pregnancy, Jones feels grateful that she was able to deliver Zac safely and is overjoyed to watch her supersized son grow.
