The Indian Association of Surgical Oncology's national mid-term conference, MIDCON 2026, is underway in Raipur on February 7 and 8. The event has successfully brought together more than 200 leading cancer surgeons from across India, alongside approximately 300 specialists from Chhattisgarh.
Distinguished international faculty members from Singapore and South Korea are contributing their expertise. Professor Jimmy So presented on the surgical treatment of gastric cancer, emphasizing global best practices. Professor Hye-Jin Kim lectured on lateral pelvic lymph node dissection in rectal cancer and fluorescence-guided surgery.
Professor Seung Ho Song provided insights into machine learning for assessing post-rectal cancer surgery complications and compared laparoscopic with robotic-assisted colorectal surgery. Senior surgeons are leading sessions on advanced cancer surgery, diagnostics, and multidisciplinary management.
