Elman, 33, was born with hydrocephalus, a condition causing excess cerebrospinal fluid on the brain, and was later diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her recent hospital stay followed a complex procedure to fix a broken tube in her brain that controlled fluid flow.

Despite her critical condition and the intensity of her medical journey, Elman shared her intention to 'stay out' of the hospital, cherishing time at home before her next scheduled appointments. She previously recalled flat-lining at age 11, an experience that has shaped her perspective on mortality and the value of each moment.
