- A doctor was suspended, and a committee will review protocols.
- The government will provide ₹25 lakh in financial assistance.

A government committee has been formed to investigate potential medical negligence after a boy lost his leg. The boy was initially treated at a Community Health Centre on April 27 following an injury. An inquiry report indicated negligence by the on-duty medical officer, Dr. Yavanti Gawade, leading to her suspension.
Following initial treatment where a plaster slab was applied, the boy was readmitted the next day with worsening symptoms. He was subsequently referred to a larger medical college. Due to gangrene developing in the affected limb, amputation became necessary.
Minister Rane expressed sadness over the incident and announced a ₹25 lakh personal financial assistance for the family. He stated the committee will visit state-run hospitals to ensure such serious incidents do not happen again.
