Mayo Clinic Health System has announced significant expansion plans for its Eau Claire campus, with construction commencing in spring 2027. A new six-story, 128,400-square-foot surgical and procedural building is set to enhance healthcare access and technology integration in the region.
The facility is anticipated to open in fall 2029. It will include six operating rooms, eight procedural rooms, and roughly 25 hospital beds, along with dedicated areas for surgical preparation and recovery. The project will also see the relocation of the staff childcare center.
This expansion is designed for flexibility, accommodating evolving surgical practices and standards. It aims to support and attract surgeons specializing in complex cancer and cardiac procedures, thereby improving access to advanced surgical care for patients in the Chippewa Valley.
The development follows closely on the heels of Mayo Clinic's ongoing expansion of its Menard Center for Emergency Care in Eau Claire, which began construction in April and is expected to open in early 2027.
