A remarkable individual is undertaking a challenging 67km walk to raise vital funds for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
Five years ago, Andy Constable sustained life-changing injuries after falling approximately 5m while performing maintenance at a football club. His extensive injuries included a fractured hip, pelvis, femur, and back, along with a punctured lung and the loss of a finger.
Doctors initially informed Constable that he would never walk again. However, through immense determination and with the support of his loved ones, he not only regained his ability to walk but has also returned to work. This arduous recovery motivated him to give back to the service that saved his life.
Constable, alongside nine friends, is set to commence the 41-mile trek from King's College Hospital in London to Minnis Bay in Kent. The ambitious goal is to complete this distance within a 24-hour period, a feat he is particularly excited about given his past prognosis.
He has already raised over £13,000, emphasizing the critical role the air ambulance plays in saving lives daily. Constable expressed deep gratitude, stating that without their intervention, he would not be alive to witness his grandson's birth or his daughter's recent wedding.
