This count is 10 more than the average human adult, who typically has 32 teeth.
The verification of this extraordinary dental condition, known as hyperdontia, took place on December 28, 2023, in Klang, Selangor. Two dentists confirmed the count, noting an additional two unerupted teeth as well. Muniandy first noticed his surplus teeth in 2021 during a family gathering, where relatives helped count 38 at the time.
Further dental examinations revealed four more teeth yet to emerge. By early 2023, his full set of 42 had erupted, mostly growing straight and without complications. Muniandy expressed his amazement and pride in holding such a unique world record, emphasizing the surprise of others upon learning about his condition. He diligently maintains his oral health with twice-daily brushing and regular flossing.
