30 Mar
Summary
- A 21-year-old man's symptoms were initially dismissed as vertigo by medics.
- He was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor in November 2025.
- His family is fundraising for brain tumor research after his death.

A young man's life was tragically cut short after his severe symptoms were repeatedly misdiagnosed as vertigo. James Mann, 21, from Bedfordshire, England, first felt unwell after returning from a vacation in June 2025. Despite multiple doctor visits over several months, his worsening dizziness, balance issues, and vomiting were attributed to minor conditions.
His mother's persistence led to an MRI scan in October 2025, revealing a brain tumor. James was diagnosed in November 2025 with a rare and aggressive form of the disease. He underwent five surgeries, but complications including an infection and the rapid regrowth of the tumor meant his prognosis was dire.
Sadly, James passed away on January 30, 2026. His family expressed profound grief, stating that bravery was not enough when no effective treatment options were available. They are now raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity.
Their fundraising efforts aim to fund crucial research and clinical trials for aggressive brain tumors. The family hopes that increased funding will lead to breakthroughs, offering future patients real options and hope, thereby preventing other young lives from being lost prematurely.
