In 2022, Pardes actress Mahima Chaudhry was diagnosed with breast cancer, a revelation that came as a surprise to her as she had no symptoms at all. Mahima recently shared her story at the Young Women Breast Cancer Conference 2025, recounting how she had simply gone for a routine check-up when the cancer was discovered.
"There were no symptoms. I didn't go in for a breast cancer screening. I just went in for a yearly check-up. I had no clue I had breast cancer," Mahima told ANI. She emphasized that cancer can only be detected early through regular tests, urging women to prioritize annual check-ups.
Mahima is now cancer-free, and she has noticed a significant improvement in cancer treatment in India over the past 3-4 years. "Many generic medicines are much cheaper now, you get better support from pharmaceutical companies, and there is much more awareness about cancer," she shared, adding that the stories of others fighting the disease have been a great source of motivation for her.
