Maharashtra Govt & Ruby Hall Clinic Boost Healthcare Access

Maharashtra's Public Health Department and Ruby Hall Clinic (RHC) in Pune are joining forces to enhance access to specialized medical treatments for impoverished patients. This collaboration focuses on expanding cardiac and cancer care services, ensuring that eligible individuals can receive necessary treatment through government health schemes.

A recent meeting, chaired by state health minister Prakash Abitkar, explored integrating RHC with the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The initiative aims to remove financial barriers for patients requiring complex procedures.

Further discussions included providing financial assistance for organ transplant surgeries. Minister Abitkar directed officials to utilize the government's corpus fund for transplant costs exceeding existing scheme limits, bolstering Maharashtra's organ donation program.

Additionally, plans are underway to establish an advanced diagnostic center in Gargoti, Kolhapur. This facility will offer affordable services like CT scans and X-rays, benefiting patients in western Maharashtra and nearby regions of Goa and Karnataka.

The partnership also aims to introduce proton therapy in Pune, making advanced cancer treatment more accessible and cost-effective for the public. The overarching goal is to ensure quality healthcare for all, irrespective of financial status.
