These observations followed a prior visit to Uttar Pradesh, where technology-led reforms in public hospitals were investigated. The Kerala visit also focused on non-communicable disease screening, cancer prevention, maternal and newborn health, and supply chain management.
Maharashtra's approach will be to adapt Kerala's successful practices to its unique geographical and demographic landscape. Potential reforms include converting some Primary Health Centres (PHCs) into FHCs and strengthening digital health systems.
Officials indicated that some interventions might be piloted before broader implementation. The objective is to learn from successful models and implement them effectively within Maharashtra's context, ensuring better healthcare delivery.
