Lucknow Gets 14 New Polyclinics for Specialist Care

Fourteen urban primary health centres in Lucknow have been upgraded to City Polyclinics, inaugurated on Friday by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. These enhanced facilities aim to provide specialized healthcare services directly within urban communities, making medical attention more accessible.

The newly established City Polyclinics will offer a range of specialist consultations, including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, dermatology, general medicine, ophthalmology, and mental health. The centres are equipped with 63 diagnostic tests, a supply of 195 essential medicines, and telemedicine capabilities.

Staff nurses, optometrists, physiotherapists, and integrated counsellors will support the specialist doctors, who will be available on all working days. Deputy Chief Minister Pathak also distributed Ayushman Bharat cards and nutrition kits during the event.

Currently operational in Lucknow since May, the City Polyclinic Scheme is set for expansion. Plans are underway to extend these specialist healthcare services to community health centres across Uttar Pradesh, improving healthcare access statewide.
