Kim Kardashian Faces Esophagitis Health Scare

In the newly released trailer for The Kardashians season 8, Kim Kardashian disclosed a personal health concern, revealing she has been diagnosed with esophagitis. This condition, described as inflammation of the esophagus, involves swelling and irritation of the tissue that carries food from the mouth to the stomach. The trailer showed Kim in a hospital setting, prompting a question from an off-camera voice about whether this was related to her father's cause of death.

Kim's father, Robert Kardashian, passed away from esophageal cancer in 2003 at the age of 59. While esophagitis and esophageal cancer are distinct, the family's experience with the disease has been profound. Years after Robert's death, his daughters, including Kim, were instrumental in opening the UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health in Los Angeles in 2019. Kim has expressed pride in the center's work, stating it has helped save lives and would have made her father proud.

This health disclosure comes as Kim has previously shared other health concerns on the show, including the discovery of a small brain aneurysm attributed to stress. She has since received medical clearance for that condition. The new season of The Kardashians is set to premiere on Hulu on October 8.
