The Director of Medical Education has implemented significant changes to enhance the State's Deceased Donor Organ Donation Programme, "Mrithasanjeevani." New nodal and assistant nodal officers have been appointed across southern, central, and northern regions to fill existing vacancies.
These newly appointed officials, including G. Ragi Krishnan for the southern region and V. Unnikrishnan Ramachandran for the central region, are tasked with coordinating organ donation activities. They will also manage budget proposals and ensure efficient utilization of allocated funds.
Furthermore, they will collaborate with neurosurgery, neurology, and critical care teams to identify potential donors. The officers are instructed to facilitate brain death certification and organ retrieval processes in designated hospitals, thereby aiming to prevent any hindrance to potential organ donations.
