Karnataka is preparing for a massive observance of the International Day of Yoga, anticipating over 1 million participants statewide. The State-level program will feature a mass yoga demonstration on the Vidhana Soudha premises.
A comprehensive year-long initiative, 'Nitya Yoga,' has been launched, featuring yoga camps at AYUSH institutions and community centers. Programs are tailored for women, children, youth, and seniors, aiming to seamlessly incorporate yoga into everyday routines. Additionally, 'Grameena Yoga' programs will reach rural areas through 360 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
Prior to Yoga Day, a 100-day countdown campaign included national yoga competitions and social media challenges, engaging thousands of students and young people. The Department of AYUSH also organized thematic conferences on topics like 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing' and 'Cancer and Yoga.' Schools are hosting various yoga-related competitions to encourage student participation. The Mysuru Yoga Hub initiative is also slated for expansion to other districts.
