Kanpur Launches TB Eradication Drive

On World Tuberculosis Day, the health department in Kanpur initiated a focused campaign to combat the disease. The event saw the joint flagging off of a Nikhshay vehicle by local dignitaries, including MLA Mahesh Trivedi and MLC Salil Vishnoi, from Sarsaiya Ghat.
As part of the campaign, 25 Tuberculosis patients received essential nutritional support through the Nikshay Poshan Potli. This distribution aligns with the day's theme, 'Yes! We Can End TB - Led by Bharat, Powered by Janbhagidari', promoting citizen involvement in achieving TB elimination.
Further recognizing community efforts, the leaders of 58 Gram Panchayats that have achieved TB-free status were honored. Additionally, 16 Nikshay Mitras received certificates for their valuable contributions to the Nikshay Poshan Yojana throughout the year 2025.
District Magistrate Jitendra Prartap Singh acknowledged the diligent work of officials, including the additional director of medical health and family welfare, the chief medical officer, and the TB officer, for their effective implementation of the National TB Abolition programme.
