Jesy Nelson's twins diagnosed with rare, severe disease

Singer Jesy Nelson recently shared the deeply emotional news that her eight-month-old twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type one. This condition is identified as the most severe form of muscular disease a baby can contract. Nelson disclosed on January 4, 2026, that the disease affects all muscles in the body.

Nelson explained the critical nature of timely treatment, stating that without it, a baby's life expectancy is often limited to just two years. She revealed that during assessments at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, she and her partner Zion were informed their daughters would likely remain disabled and unable to walk. The singer described the past few months as the most heartbreaking of her life.

Expressing profound gratitude, Nelson emphasized the vital importance of the treatment her daughters have received, acknowledging that without it, their lives would be at risk.
