A new £3 million Interventional Radiology (IR) suite has opened at Jersey General Hospital, funded by dormant bank accounts. This state-of-the-art facility employs catheters and wires for treatments through minimal incisions, significantly reducing patient discomfort and recovery periods.
The 16-month project involved installing advanced imaging equipment and refurbishing existing spaces. Consultant radiologist Dr. Nolan Walker highlighted the suite's capacity to perform a wide range of procedures on the island, enhancing existing treatments for vascular conditions, fibroids, and enlarged prostates.
