A dedicated support service for carers in Jersey has successfully assisted nearly 50 individuals since its recent inception. This initiative, managed by the Listening Lounge under a three-year contract from Health and Care Jersey, aims to provide comprehensive well-being support.
The service actively partners with Dementia Jersey, Focus on Mental Illness, and Jersey Eating Disorders Support to deliver specialized aid. Its offerings include personalized one-to-one sessions, group discussions, educational programs, and valuable social engagement opportunities tailored for carers.
Deputy Tom Binet, the minister for health and social services, expressed his strong endorsement, calling the newly launched service an indispensable 'lifeline for carers.' The program underscores a commitment to enhancing the support network available to those caring for others on the island.
