Bestselling author Jane Fallon has shared an update following her breast cancer surgery on March 23. Fallon, who revealed her diagnosis earlier this month, posted on Instagram that she is feeling "remarkably fine" after the operation. The 65-year-old author is recovering at home, supported by her partner Ricky Gervais and their rescue cat.
Fallon was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer around a month before publicly announcing it on March 12. The diagnosis came after a routine mammogram just before Christmas, where a radiographer detected an issue. Further tests, including biopsies and an MRI, confirmed the problem, and the prognosis is considered excellent.
Fallon and Gervais, together for over four decades, met in 1982. Fallon has previously spoken about her decision not to have children, expressing concerns about being a "catastrophiser" and believing she would be a better auntie figure.
