Actress Jameela Jamil recently disclosed a harrowing health ordeal that occurred this past summer, during which she was hospitalized after suffering from mold poisoning. The 40-year-old activist revealed that the mold, discovered in her home's air conditioning unit, caused her windpipe to close up periodically and led to severe health complications.

During her emergency room visits, Jamil experienced 'heart cramps' and was administered iodine, which triggered a severe allergic reaction. This reaction brought her close to cardiac arrest, a fact she attributes to an undiagnosed iodine allergy. She noted that her known shellfish allergy did not previously indicate this specific sensitivity.

Jamil shared that the symptoms were explosive, sometimes leaving her struggling to maintain consciousness. She observed changes in her speech and facial appearance, along with intense head pressure. Upon realizing the mold in her AC unit was the likely cause, she left her room, and her migraine vanished within 15 minutes, underscoring the mold's significant impact.
