Rajasthan's Health Minister, Gajendra Singh Khimsar, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Dermatology Institute at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College on Tuesday. This new facility is equipped with advanced machines, including AI-based technology, to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, offering high-quality care at reduced costs.
Simultaneously, Khimsar launched the Raj-Mamta program for mental health. This initiative aims to boost awareness and treatment for mental health issues, acknowledging the rise in stress levels. A Centre of Excellence for mental health will be established at SMS Hospital, complemented by district-level care cells staffed with psychiatrists and counselors.
Further directives from Khimsar included assessing vacant posts based on patient load, reviewing village sub-health centers, and rationalizing staffing. He also mandated CCTV installations at all health centers, improved cleanliness, building repairs, and readiness for heat waves.
The Health Department will enhance monitoring of services, conduct daily reviews, and strengthen focus on non-communicable diseases and geriatric care. Efforts will also be directed towards achieving HPV vaccination targets, ensuring medicine availability, and managing biomedical waste.
